Development of a Framework for Data Armonization and Service Integration (HUMBOLDT)

The Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (INSPIRE) European Directive aimed at unify spatial data from many European organisations by developing a European Spatial Data Infrastructure (ESDI). The HUMBOLDT project helped provide a framework for this harmonisation and facilitate service integration. The project was founded by the sixth framework programme of the EC and involved 28 partners across different EU countries.
