
Giacomo Cozzolino provided Technical Assistance and Preparation of the Proposal for the technical-scientific cooperation between UE and Brazil on “Mainstreaming Sustainable Use of Forests for Biodiversity Conservation and Poverty Alleviation”.
The programme overall objective is “To create a suitable environment to discuss the implications of the sustainable use of biodiversity for the conservation and development agenda in Brazil”.
The specific objectives are:
1) Bring the sustainable use of biodiversity as a strategy for the conservation of biodiversity on the agenda of discussion of public policies and on the development of science and technology;
2) Put in progress a short-term agenda of science and technology cooperation between EU and Brazil on the sustainable use of biodiversity as a strategy to conserve biodiversity, environmental services, and ecosystems;
3) Set the basis for a long-term, well-structured, cooperation environment on science and technology between European and Brazilian institutions.
