Safeguarding biodiversity from invasive alien species in the Federated States of Micronesia

Invasive Alien Species (IAS) are the greatest threat to biodiversity in the Pacific Islands, contributing to the loss of native species including endemics and traditional varieties of crops, and impacting on food security and tourism. Moreover, the threat has increased as island nations develop, resulting in greater mobility among people, goods, and supplies. In this framework, the GEF finances this project, to safeguard biodiversity and contribute to human well-being. Giacomo Cozzolino is one of the project designers.
