Sustainable Land Management in Micronesia: Draft Plans and Stakeholder Validation

#Project update Following the kick-off meeting held in November 2025, the GEF-7 initiative in the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM)  has progressed from initial consultations to the preparation and stakeholder review of the draft Sustainable Land Management National Action Plan and four State Action Plans. The current phase focuses on incorporating feedback from the validation process and preparing GIS capacity-building activities. Integrated Infrastructure Planning and Environmental Safeguards 

#Project Submission  SETIN recently completed a technical assignment supporting the environmental assessment and planning of a strategic infrastructure initiative, with a strong focus on aligning development objectives with biodiversity protection and sustainable territorial management.  The work included technical analyses to assess potential interactions between the proposed infrastructure interventions and environmentally sensitive areas, applying established methodologies for impact screening, mitigation planning and precautionary environmental assessment.  Particular attention was given to:  integrating environmental safeguards into project planning and design;  assessing potential ecological interactions and cumulative effects;  identifying mitigation and risk avoidance measures;  supporting planning solutions that enhance connectivity
