#Project #Submission
Between March and April 2026, SETIN completed and submitted the documentation required to obtain Landscape Authorisation for the upgrade of two waste collection centres managed by AMA S.p.a., in the Municipality of Rome: Acilia and Cinecittà.
For both sites, SETIN prepared the technical, administrative and graphical documentation required under the applicable landscape protection legislation. This included Landscape Reports, an analysis of the existing conditions, an assessment of potential visual and landscape impacts, and drawings presenting the territorial context, the proposed works and their integration into the surrounding environment.
At the Acilia waste collection centre, the proposed intervention focused on improving stormwater management and vehicle access. The works included new structures for collecting, treating and monitoring stormwater, with dedicated systems for first-flush sedimentation and oil separation. The existing entrance gates will also be replaced by two new access points, facilitating the movement of operational vehicles within the site.
At Cinecittà, the project concerned the installation of a wastewater treatment plant to improve the environmental performance of the centre’s water management system and ensure that discharges comply with the applicable regulatory requirements. The proposed solution combines advanced filtration through quartzite and zeolite with a final activated-carbon treatment stage, providing an efficient and flexible treatment process.
In both cases, SETIN assessed the physical and visual changes associated with the projects and demonstrated that the new structures and equipment could be appropriately integrated into the existing landscape and territorial setting. The work supported the environmental improvement of the two facilities while ensuring compliance with landscape protection requirements.
The SETIN team responsible for the assignments consisted of Alessandro Piazzi and Riccardo Leone.
